I recently traveled to upstate NY for the baby shower of my nephew's wife. They are having a baby boy in May, and she loves Green!
I found this wonderful Monkey Afghan pattern on etsy which you can purchase for $8.00

I found some beautiful curly green yarn for the monkey fur, and used a variegated cream and tan yarn for the face and ears, which looks just like sock monkey. I changed the shape of the face to look more like a traditional sock monkey, making it more oval, and I added a picot edging to the final product. This was a joy to make, and was a hit at the shower. With a little tweaking, you could make just about any animal face...bear, bunny, puppy, etc. I'm considering a whole menagerie next time.
